Safety first: stay away from downed power lines, call 911 for emergencies, and take photos of the damage before anything is moved or covered.

Get connected

Tell us what happened.

  1. We call you within about 5 minutes of getting your form (11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central, Monday through Friday). After hours or on weekends, we call you at 11 a.m. the next business day. You talk to a real person on the Roofory team, not a sales line
  2. We match you with one vetted roofer who works your area: licensed in your state, insured, and checked by us. Your information goes to that one roofer, never to a list
  3. We book the inspection at a time that works for you, and tell you who's coming before they arrive
  4. We check in after the visit and stay in your corner until the job is done. If a contractor doesn't deliver, we step in
Rallying the right roofers

We're bringing in roofers who meet our standard.

When a storm hits, we call on licensed, insured roofers in our network and recruit new ones who'll work by our rules: no big deposits, no pressure, and every job stood behind. Homeowners get help faster, and nobody gets left with a contractor who disappears.

What to do now

Hurricane roof damage: what to do first.

  1. Get safe. Stay away from downed lines and stay off the roof. Call 911 if anyone is in danger.
  2. Document everything. Take dated photos and video of the damage inside and out before anything is moved or covered.
  3. Stop the water. If water is coming in, protect your belongings and get a temporary repair or tarp.
  4. Don't rush to sign. Don't sign a contract or pay a big deposit the same day. Check the license first.
  5. Get connected to someone vetted. Tell us what happened and we'll connect you with a roofer we've already checked out.
Why I do this

I go where the storms go.

I've driven more than 10,000 miles chasing storms across the country, from hail in Bedford Heights, Ohio, to the Texas plains and the Florida coast. I've stood in neighborhoods the morning after, with trees down and debris everywhere, and I keep seeing the same thing: homeowners hand money over up front to a contractor who never comes back.

That's why Roofory exists. We make a commitment to homeowners: we vet the roofers, hold them accountable, and stay in your corner until the job is done right. Most people can get told what needs to be done. What they don't have is someone protecting them.

I'm in Florida, on the ground in the areas Isaias hit, talking with homeowners and hearing their stories.

Watch for storm chasers

Red flags after a storm.

  • Asks for a big deposit or full payment before any work starts
  • Pressures you to sign today
  • Can't show you a state license and proof of insurance
  • No local address, or out-of-state plates and phone number
  • Offers to "cover" or waive your deductible
  • Shows up uninvited promising your insurance will pay for a new roof

Already paid someone who disappeared?

Tell us on the form. We'll document it and help you track them down. We're also building a homeowner portal where you'll be able to keep track of what you've paid and file a complaint if a contractor doesn't deliver.

For business owners

Commercial roof damage in Gulf Shores & Baldwin County.

Flat and low-slope roofs on offices, stores, churches, and warehouses fail differently than a home's roof. The most expensive damage often can't be seen from inside.

What happens to a commercial roof

  • Wind lifts the membrane (TPO, EPDM, mod bit) at the edges and corners
  • Coping, edge metal, and flashing get torn loose
  • Flying debris punctures the membrane
  • Rooftop HVAC units shift and their curbs start leaking
  • Drains clog and water ponds on the roof
  • Insulation under the membrane gets soaked without anyone noticing

What needs to be done

  • A temporary dry-in to stop water as soon as possible
  • A moisture survey (infrared or core samples) to find wet insulation
  • A repair, recover, or replace decision based on the damage and the roof's age
  • Work that meets your local building code and wind-uplift requirements
  • Photos, reports, and invoices for everything that's done

We vet commercial roofers the same way we vet residential ones. Just tell us on the form that it's a commercial property.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find a trustworthy roofer in Gulf Shores & Baldwin County after Hurricane Isaias?

Look for a local roofer with a current state license, liability and workers' comp insurance, solid reviews, and references from your neighbors. Roofory checks all of that for you and personally connects you with a vetted roofer in your area.

What should I do first if Hurricane Isaias damaged my roof?

Safety first: stay away from downed lines and stay off the roof. Take photos and video of all the damage, inside and out, before anything is moved. If water is coming in, protect what you can and get a temporary repair. Don't rush to sign a contract or pay a big deposit.

How can I tell if a roofer is a storm chaser?

They show up uninvited, ask for a lot of money up front, pressure you to sign today, can't show a license or insurance, have no local address, or offer to "cover" your deductible. If you see any of these, stop and verify before you sign anything.

How do I check a roofer's license in Alabama?

Residential roofing work in Alabama requires a license from the Alabama Home Builders Licensure Board. Look the contractor up at hblb.alabama.gov before you sign.

Should I pay a roofer a deposit up front?

Avoid paying a big deposit before work starts, and never pay cash without a receipt. Get a written contract with the scope, materials, price, and payment schedule.

What happens to a commercial roof in a hurricane?

Wind lifts the membrane at the edges and corners, tears off coping and edge metal, shifts rooftop HVAC units, and debris punctures the surface. Water can soak the insulation under the membrane without showing inside right away.

Is Roofory a roofing contractor?

No. Roofory doesn't do roofing work or handle insurance claims. We vet roofers, hold them accountable, and connect you with one you can trust.
